Bus mows down boy

A best bus mowed down a three-year-old boy at Byculla opposite the Jijamata Udyan on Saturday morning. Aditya Yadav was rushed to JJ Hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival. The driver was later nabbed by the Byculla police and booked for rash and negligent driving.

The Byculla police said Aditya,the son of Ramjeet Yadav,a railway employee,lived with his parents at the railway colony in Wadi Bunder at Sandhurst Road. An officer from the Byculla police station said,“The incident took place around 10.30 am when Aditya’s parents had taken him to the Byculla Railway Hospital for polio drops. As soon as they got out of the hospital,Aditya freed himself from his mother’s grip and ran to the road when the speeding BEST bus hit him. He was taken to a hospital,where he was declared dead.”

Locals caught the driver and handed him over to the Byculla police. The police,however,refused to reveal the driver’s name.
