Unidentified persons broke into an electronic goods showroom in Powai early on Thursday and escaped with goods worth around Rs 8.10 lakh.

Unidentified persons broke into an electronic goods showroom in Powai early on Thursday and escaped with goods worth around Rs 8.10 lakh. The incident took place at Yash Om Electronics in Powais Pawarwadi area.

The Powai police said the incident came to light when workers opened the shop in the morning.

Workers found that the lock was broken and that the shutter was not closed properly. They informed us and a police team went to the spot. Electronic goods such as LCD and LED TVs and microwaves have been stolen, said senior police inspector Bajirao Bhosale.

Bhosale said a case under Sections 454 (trespassing),457 (trespassing at night) and 380 (theft) has been filed against unidentified persons. All angles are being probed,he added.
