Builder held for plotting Sena leader’s murder

“A couple of years ago,Bhoir was accused of killing Jadhav’s brother Devanand,also a builder. A land dispute was given as the reason and Bhoir had also been arrested in the case. Wanting to avenge his brother’s death,Jadhav had been reportedly plotting Bhoir’s murder since few months. We received a tip-off about a ploy to kill Bhoir and based on the information we kept a watch near Gurudev Annexe in Kalyan where they were expected to arrive,” said Assistant Police Inspector Prakash Patil

“Jadhav had hired two sharpshooters,Ankush Bhojne and Raj Kumar,both with a notorious criminal record,to kill Bhoir. Accompanied by his nephew and Devanand’s son Vikram,he was briefing the sharpshooters about how and when to attack Bhoir when we nabbed them,” said Patil. Raj Kumar is a historysheeter. Bhojne had been released from jail recently after serving a murder term.

The ATS team,under Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Ghule and Police Inspector Jitendra Agarkar,has handed over the accused to the Mahatma Phule Police station in Kalyan for further investigation.
