Brother arrested for teen’s murder

On entering the house,Mahendra Yadav,a water tanker driver and Ajit’s father found his wife and son lying in a pool of blood and rushed them to the hospital. “On the basis of suspicion,we detained Sujit and interrogated him. He told us that he had an affair with a girl,who resides in the same area and is his classmate. However,his mother was against the relationship and he was not allowed to meet her, said senior police inspector Anant Kenjale of Samta Nagar police station.

“Two months ago,Lilavati visited the girl’s house and hurled abuses on her parents. The parents had then sent the girl to their native place. When Sujit came to know about this,he planned the murder of his mother,” said Kenjale.

Sujit then allegedly approached his school friend Vinod and promised to pay him for the job. Acting on their plan,Vinod entered their house on Wednesday and mistaking Ajit to be Lilavati,stabbed him on his chest and abdomen. When Lilavati woke up and tried to intervene,she too was stabbed. Both the accused have been remanded to police custody till February 16 for further interrogation.
