While, the 80-seater taproom is smaller than the Pune outlet, it will be packed with over 500 books, board games, soft boards where people can doodle, scribble or advertise for events. “I want people to use the space for whatever they feel like doing — may it be a lecture, a workshop or a gig. People should be able to unwind and spend at least four-five hours here,” says Talekar, who promises that one can have a conversation at the taproom even at 11.30 pm on a Saturday night. The seating will reflect this attitude with casual coffee tables and wooden sofas.

Six taps will keep its well-known brews such as the apple cider and Hefeweizen flowing and two-three new beers will be added to the list every month. “Both, the drinks and food on the menu, will be in single digits,” says Talekar as he assures that all the dishes will be “remarkable”. “For instance, we will take a regular calzone and fill it with say Goan pork sausages or a mac ‘n’ cheese, which will have four different kinds of cheeses in it,” he says.

While the original plan was to open on September 26, it has been waylaid by bureaucracy. Doolally will also start the Mug Club in Mumbai, which allows you to book a 500 ml beer mug at an annual fee of Rs 2,000. This mug is then reserved for you and on every purchase of a pint of beer (350 ml), you will get an additional 150 ml for free. Another aspect is the music. Patrons can curate tracks at the venue from a selection of over 5,000 songs that will be uploaded on a server. “It will be like a digital jukebox, wherein you can queue requests through a webpage,” says Talekar.
