Bimal Agarwal, who is an accused in a case involving the supply of inferior quality bomb suits to Maharashtra police, has filed an application for bail before a sessions court. This was after he was sent to judicial custody for fourteen days by a city court. Agarwal was the director of Techno Trade Impex, which had been given an order of 80 bomb suits by the state. ‘

The government alleged that the company procured some of the suits from China that were of inferior quality. This was after Agarwal had moved the Bombay HC challenging the state decision to reject the bomb suits.

The case acquired prominence in the context of the 26/11 terror attacks.

In 2009,the state had floated a tender for the purchase of bomb suits. Agarwal was arrested on August 13.
