Bollywood singer performs stunt on Sea Link, booked

The Mumbai police booked Bollywood singer and songwriter Yasser Desai for allegedly performing a stunt on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and recording a video on Tuesday. Police took action after his video went viral.

In the video, Desai, who has sung many songs in Bollywood films and some music albums, is seen getting off his vehicle on the Mumbai-bound stretch of the sea bridge, climbing on the railing of the bridge for the video and then quickly leaving.

According to police, any kind of stunt on Sea Link is prohibited, and stern action is taken against those who do it.

“After being informed by the viral video, we verified the information from the staff monitoring CCTV footages on the Sea Link and registered an FIR on Tuesday evening against Desai and his associate who shot the video,” said an officer from Bandra police station.

Desai has been booked under sections 285 (danger in public way), 281 (rash driving), 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 3 (5) (criminal act committed by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of BNS and relevant section of the Motors Vehicle Act.

“We are trying to get his address from the car’s registration details. Once traced, his statement would be recorded, and a notice would be served to him,” said another police officer.
