BJP to replace city chief

City BJP chief Raj Purohit is likely to be replaced in the next few days. The party has already started consultations with members. At a meeting here,MLC Ashish Shellar,MLA Prakash Mehta and city general secretary Atul Bhatkhalkar emerged the front-runners to take over from Purohit. The party is considering whether to appoint a Marathi candidate or a non-Marathi. Mehta stands a fair chance if it goes with a non-Marathi face. A final decision will be taken after consultations with senior leaders Nitin Gadkari and Gopinath Munde. Meanwhile,the Pune BJP chief contest has narrowed down between Ganesh Bidkar and Anil Shirole.
