(File photo)The Maharashtra BJP will launch ‘Har ghar tiranga’ campaign from August 9 to 15, through which it aims to reach out to one crore people across the state and evoke cultural nationalism, which is high on the party’s agenda.
Programme coordinator Uma Khapre on Monday said, “Under the leadership of national president J P Nadda, BJP Maharashtra president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will extensively implement the programme.”
The plan is to ensure maximum people across the state host tricolour on their residences, commercial establishments and public places to celebrate Independence Day on August 15.
During the broadcast of ‘Mann ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the party to launch Har Ghar Tiranga to celebrate Independence Day with great fervour across the country.
According to Khapre, “All the BJP leaders, ministers and office-bearers, along with karyakartas, will proactively participate in the campaign. They will interact with people in their respective constituencies and areas. They will impress upon people to put up a tricolour in their houses.”
Apart from conveying the message, the party has provided tricolour at booth levels, Shakti Kendras, and district units which would be distributed among people.
From August 12 to 14, the BJP will engage in Swachhta Abhiyan, which includes cleaning premises where statues of freedom fighters and prominent persons have been installed across the state. It will conclude with offering floral tributes and obeisance to the freedom fighters and martyrs, who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom.
All the state unit cells, including youth, women, OBC, and kisan cells, will be part of the programme.
