Ayaz Billawala of MJ Foundation stormed into the semi-finals of combined 80+,90+ mens doubles,and the combined 60+ mixed doubles in the third Affinity Corporate Badminton Challenge 2013,jointly organised by the Maharashtra Badminton Association and Evolution Sport,held at the NSCI on Wednesday.
Billawala started the day by advancing into the semi-fianls of the 90+ mens doubles event along with partner Gautam Ashra,following a straight game win. With Farah Moloobhai of Evolution Sport,he comfortably booked a slot in the last four of the mixed doubles 60+ event. However,his quarterfinal clash of the mens doubles 80+,with Shailesh Daga as his partner,against Ashish Kapila and Sandeep Chatwani was a close affair with Billawalas side edging over their opponents with a 21-10,20-22,21-13 win.
Supriya Devgun also entered the semi-finals of the combined 60+ and 80+ mixed doubles events.
