The Home Department on Saturday transferred two IPS officers. K P Raghuvanshi has been posted Thane Police Commissioner while K Subramaniam has been promoted as DGP (Anti-Corruption Bureau). Raghuvanshi was serving as ADGP (Law & Order).

Dumper hits bike,2 killed
Two persons were killed when a dumper hit a motorbike near the Gorai dumping ground around 5 pm on Saturday. Ketan Kirtan,25,who rode the bike and pillion rider Pratiksah Joshi,23,were declared dead after being taken to Bhagwati Hospital. The driver of the dumper fled. The two came under the rear wheel of the dumper and were crushed to death, a police officer said.

Domestic help raped in Kalina
The Kurla Government Railway Police on Saturday arrested one Abdul Gafoor Khan,36,on charges of raping an 18-year-old domestic help. Police said the victim who was in Vidyavihar to meet her relatives had missed the last local. Khan,who runs a scrap shop,had allegedly taken her to an isolated spot in Kalina and raped her at knifepoint.

Maha lok adalat to be organised today
A maha lok adalat will be organised on Sunday from 11 am under the leadership of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in association with Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority of the Bombay High Court. As many as 33,500 cases are expected to be taken up .

Open manhole: case against BMC
Versova resident Ashok Motwani,80,has filed a police complaint against the civic administration for allegedly leaving a manhole open because of which he slipped and almost fell into it. The police have registered a case under Section 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC.
