Another man held for posting defamatory content against Aamir Khan’s talk show

The 32-year-old Udaipur native was produced in a court in Mumbai, where a charge-sheet was also submitted

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested another man on Wednesday for allegedly posting malicious content online, defamatory to actor Aamir Khan’s talk show Satyamev Jayate.

The 32-year-old Udaipur native was produced in a court in Mumbai, where a charge-sheet was also submitted, the crime branch said.

ssages on websites http://www.speakingtree.com, http://www.santabandta(dot)com and http://www.blogspot.in, stating that the show collected funds from viewers and supplyed them to terrorist organisations,” said Mukund Pawar, senior inspector, CCIC.

Pawar said the crime branch had written to the administrators of all three websites and obtained the internet protocol (IP) address of the accused. The crime branch also asked the websites to delete the content allegedly posted by the accused.

The crime branch seized the harddisk of a laptop and a data card from the home of the accused and sent it for forensic analysis, Pawar said.

A complaint was registered with the Mumbai Police by Aamir Khan Productions Pvt Ltd in March after messages regarding alleged misuse of donations were posted on social networking websites Facebook and Twitter and later on the instant messaging application WhatsApp, the crime branch said.

The CCIC had first arrested a 68-year-old former merchant navy officer from Mangalore in April for allegedly posting defamatory content against the show online.
