A United Iftar

This evening,Jogeshwari-based NGO,SAHER (Society for Awareness,Harmony and Equal Rights) will couple an iftar party and a dialogue with the aim to further their efforts in promoting communal harmony

This evening,Jogeshwari-based NGO,SAHER (Society for Awareness,Harmony and Equal Rights) will couple an iftar party and a dialogue with the aim to further their efforts in promoting communal harmony. Ram Puniyani,activist and writer,will conduct the session on “Importance of education within different faith backgrounds”,an event that is also being supported by United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC),and a second Mumbai-based NGO,Modern Youth Association (MYA). Slated to start at 4.30 pm,the discussion will be held at Hanjar Grounds,Jogeshwari (West).

Formed in 1997 as a reaction to the communal riots of 1992-93,

SAHER primarily seeks to engage young men and women in activities that require them to interact with various communities. At present,the organisation works with close to 1,000 people directly and reaches out to three times the number.
