A class act

It was all about elegance at Indigo in Colaba on Friday,where Mumbai’s most fashionable citizens gathered to celebrate 75 years of Italian fashion house Canali. Riyad Oomerbhoy,MD of RR Oomerbhoy,and his uber chic sister Roohi Jaikishan played host to Paolo Canali in an evening that celebrated the best of food and fashion. Roses were everywhere to play up the love of luxury that Italians and Indians share with even the champagne being served with rose petals. The soiree Bombay’s bestest in attendance—Haseena Jethmalani wore a sari,Yash Birla came fashionably late. Also present were Adar and Natasha Poonawalla,Prerna Goel,Ravi Krishnan,Raman Macker and Ambika Hinduja. The new consul general of Italy and his statuesque wife,Gianpaolo and Elisabetta Cutillo,were quite the head-turners.

Showstopper It takes a lot of panache to pull off shoes with mega ruffles,and Farah Oomerbhoy’s Alexander McQueen’s were candy for the eyes.
