756 nursing homes served BMC notices for not changing user-type

After rejecting the demand to have a separate entry for nursing homes in addition to the main entry of the residential buildings,the BMC is set to regularise the nursing homes found to be operating without changing their user-type from residential to commercial.

After rejecting the demand to have a separate entry for nursing homes in addition to the main entry of the residential buildings,the BMC is set to regularise the nursing homes found to be operating without changing their user-type from residential to commercial. As many as 756 out of the total 1400 nursing homes in the city are yet to get their changed user-type registered with the BMC. These will be required to pay a premium to the BMC for getting the change registered.

Notices have been sent to all the 756 nursing homes by the BMC,stating they have to pay a premium that will be calculated as 20 per cent of the capital value of the built-up area of the property as per the ready reckoner rates. The BMC is expected to generate Rs 60 crore with each nursing home having to pay an amount between Rs 5-Rs 10 lakh.
