12-year-old boy dies in road accident in Mumbai, truck driver held

According to police, at around 12.30 pm, when the boy was going by the Carter Road number 3, he saw a tempo ahead and moved towards the road side and tried to walk over the divider.

A 12-year-old boy died in Borivali (East) on Friday after coming under the wheels of a truck. The police have arrested the truck driver.

According to police, at around 12.30 pm, when the boy was going by the Carter Road number 3, he saw a tempo ahead and moved towards the road side and tried to walk over the divider.

However, he lost balance and fell, and came under the rear wheels of the truck which was passing by, police said.
The truck driver tried to flee the spot but was nabbed by the local residents.

A police team reached the spot and rushed the boy to nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The Kasturba Sub police have arrested the truck driver under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by negligence.
