The police have found that the duo had gone to Bangalore from where they came to Mumbai to sell the oil.The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police arrested two persons hailing from Tamil Nadu in Bandra for allegedly carrying two kilograms of hash oil worth Rs 2 crore in the international market.
Police said that the accused had come to the city to give the supply to peddlers who would in turn sell it to others. Hash oil or cannabis oil is a resin obtained by extraction of THC or hashish used in a liquid form.
DCP Prakash Jadhav said that their officers who were patrolling KC Road in Bandra spotted two suspicious persons lurking in the area. They arrested the two accused identified as Anand Kumar G (37) and Udhay Deivendran (39), both of whom hail from Madurai in Tamil Nadu after they found hash oil on them.
An officer said that Kumar is a BSc student who had a business of supplying soaps, face wash and skin care products. Deivendran had done a diploma in civil engineering and was doing construction work with his father who is a labour contractor.
The police have found that the duo had gone to Bangalore from where they came to Mumbai to sell the oil. “We are interrogating the accused to find out where they procured the hash oil from. While they claim they got it from Visakhapatnam, we are verifying their claims,” Jadhav said.
