A 19-year-old youth was allegedly killed by three robbers in Oshiwara on Friday night. Police said Sachin Nandgawle was hit on his head breaking his skull and leading to his death. The Oshiwara police arrested the three accused on Saturday morning.
On Friday around 10 pm,Mahindra Maurya,an electrician,went to an open ground to answer the call of nature. The three accused accosted him with the intention to rob him. They dragged Maurya into a bush and assaulted him. Maurya started crying, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 10) KMM Prasanna said.
Hearing his cries,Sachin and Arun Yadav (26),a cook,trid to rescue Mauray. The assailants attacked them also using bamboo sticks. Both Sachin and Yadav fell unconscious. The three attackers soon fled the spot after robbing them of mobile phones and cash to the tune of Rs 600,police said.
An injured Maurya managed to seek help and three of them were rushed to Cooper Hospital. Nandgawle was declared dead at the hospital and Yadav is in a critical condition.
Acting on Mauryas complaint,we arrested Sunil Karwar (19),Prasad Jadhav (26) and Punit Gowda (17). Jadhav has a house-in case registered against him a few years ago. We have charged them with robbery and murder and will produce them in court. We have also recovered two mobile phones and Rs 300 from them, said Prasanna.
Prakash Nandgawle,Sachins father,said,Sachin was supposed to come back from his computer institute but called me up to say he would be late. I had no clue about what happened till police came and told us about the incident.
