The Navi Mumbai Police arrested a 19-year-old student for allegedly hacking the website of Maharashtra Public Service Commission and posting the hall ticket details of the aspirants on a Telegram channel.
According to police, the incident took place on April 23 when the hall-tickets of Group B and Group C exams, which were scheduled to be held on April 30, were made available on April 21 to students on the Commission’s official website as well as through temporary external links.
However, later it came to light that an unknown person illegally accessed the external link and obtained the details of the hall tickets of the aspirants.
“The unknown person illegally downloaded 94,195 hall tickets from the website of the commission and posted the information on the Telegram channel ‘MPSC 2023 A’ to mislead the examinees,” said Navi Mumbai police.
