1 killed in accident,auto driver arrested

The Vakola police on Sunday arrested an autorickshaw driver for ramming into a dumper on the Western Express Highway in Santacruz. A passenger,Akbar Shaikh,40,died in the accident. The incident took place around 1:30 am on Saturday,when Shaikh was travelling in Mohammad Ansari’s auto. Police said,“Ansari was speeding across the Vakola flyover when he lost control and rammed into a dumper. Shaikh,a Malad resident was thrown out of the vehicle.” Shaikh was declared brought dead at the hospital. Ansari has been booked under Sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
