Vishva Hindu Parishad activists held a protest outside the SSP’s office here today. The protestors were demanding action against the members of a particular community for having indulged in alleged conversions.

The activists gathered outside the city police chief’s office in the morning and finally left after submitting their demands to the SSP. Notable here is that tension had mounted between the members of the two communities following an alleged attempt to convert a family into another religion and allegedly threatening them of the dire consequences and ransacking their house.

Members of the other community however had alleged that it were not they but the others who attacked them and the police had taken action against the members of both the communities.

“We have met the SSP and have requested him to take action against the missionary members for having threatened a family in EWS colony for the forcible conversion. He has assured us of an action and we are quite hopeful that such heinous activities would not be allowed in the city,” said Ravinder Ravinder Arora,Communication in-charge,Vishva Hindu Parishad Punjab.
