PSEB result confusing

CLASS VIII BOARDS : Online result does not match school-wise result; computer science marks not added

The Class VIII result declared by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on May 15 has led to confusion among students and schools. This is the first time that the PSEB had released the result on the internet but students were shocked to find out that the online result did not match with the result received by schools.

Shashi Sharma,Principal of Everest Model Senior Secondary School in Moti Nagar,said,Today students came to me with internet result and I was shocked to see as it was different from what we had received in the school-wise result from the Internet. After analysing it for over three hours,we realised that the marks of computer science were not added in the school-wise result. However,in the individual result on the internet,marks for computer science were shown to have been added.

Rajinder Sharma,President of Association of the PSEB Affiliated Schools in Punjab,said,We have written a letter to the PSEB authorities and requested him to instruct the authorities concerned to do the needful.

Meanwhile,Dalbeer Singh Dhillon,Chairman,PSEB,Mohali,said,We have added marks of Computer Science but if by chance these have not been added in the school-wise result,it is not a big issue. Schools can do this on their own.

Everest Public School shines
Students of the Everest Public Senior Secondary School,Moti Nagar,showed 100 per cent results in the Middle Standard Examinations of Punjab School Education Board. Anjali,with 826 of 900 marks got 52nd position in the merit list of Punjab and 16th in Ludhiana. Vinita Gogna secured 792,Neha scored 786,Akriti got 784 and Gurpreet Kaur scored 777. As many as 12 students got more than 80 per cent and 69 got first division.
