PSEB Class XII exams from March 11; Class X tests start on March 21

Punjab School Education Board,Mohali has released the date sheet of second semester exams for classes X and XII. The class XII exams will start from March 11 and conclude on April 8 while exams of class X will start on March 21 and conclude on April 11.

According to Shashi Sharma,a school Principal,“’The board is yet to release the date sheet of first semester exam of regular candidates as many students are to appear in this exam too,which includes candidates who failed or who got compartment in first semester as regular candidates. However,the board has released the date sheet for compartment and failed candidates of first semester for open school candidates. As per this,the compartment exams of first semester of open school candidates will start from April 7 and conclude on April 11.”

Meanwhile,there is confusion about class VIII examination. Many school heads are yet not sure whether the exam of class VIII would be conducted by Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan,Punjab or by the schools on their own. Till last year,PSEB,Mohali used to conduct this exam. Harnam Dass,District Education Officer (Secondary),Ludhiana said,“It is SSA Punjab which takes care of all academic works upto Class VIII. So the exams will also be conducted by SSA,Punjab.”

However a school head said,“We are not clear whether SSA,Punjab will send all the question papers to schools or schools will also have to prepare some question papers. We are still awaiting instructions.”
