A Cracking brace from Pooja Yadav helped Coaching Centre,Sector 18 give a perfect start after they thumped Wanderers Club 3-0 to move ahead in the Hockey Tournament for Girls organised by Rock Rovers Hockey Club at Sector 18 Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Anjali put CC-18 in lead by scoring goal in the first minute of the match. She scored the goal through a field goal. Meanwhile,Pooja Yadav,who was in a belligerent mood,scored her first goal of the match when she hit a nicely executed field goal in the fifth minute of the match. Barely two minutes had passed when Pooja weaved her magic again and sent a smashing penalty stroke into the back of the net to help CC-18 register an emphatic win. Coaching Centre-18 conceded one penalty corner and a penalty stroke while Wanderers Club did not concede any.
Meanwhile,in the second match of the day,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 18,humbled Sports Club,Sector 35 by a huge margin of 8-0 in a one-sided match.
Sandeep scored a hat-trick,while Ritusha hit a brace. GMSSS-18 opened the account through Ramandeep in the second minute of the match when she scored a field goal. Sandeep made it 2-0 after scoring in the fourth minute through a field goal. A minute later,Reena sent a thumping shot into the net to score the third goal of the team. Meanwhile,Ritusha netted the goal in the 13th minute of the match through a field goal. Even after the breather,GMSSS-18 maintained their authority over the Sports Club players by scoring freely on regular intervals. Navdeep scored in the 8th minute of the second half through a field goal,while Sandeep found the net in the 13th minute of the second half through a penalty corner. Ritusha was on target again in the 18th minute of second half,while Sandeep scored her third goal of the match to put the final nail in their opponent’s coffin.
