In an interesting case,a police official serving in the city has been booked by the very police station where he served as Station House Officer (SHO).

On Friday,Judge Amrinderpal Singh ordered that a case be registered against Sub Inspector Navneen Kumar and head constable Kulwinder Singh for forging signatures of an Assistant Sub Inspector.

Station House Officer division 8 Ashwani Kumar said that a case had been registered at this police station in May last year where a youth posing as CIA staff official was trying to fool someone. During trial Assistant Sub Inspector Gurcharan Singh told the court that the signatures on the officials documents presented by the police to the court did not belong to him and that the same had been done by Kumar and the head constable.

While the court acquitted the accused,it ordered that the case be registered against the police officials and inquiry be conducted.

Naveen Kumar meanwhile denies all charges claiming that Gurcharan Singh who was the

inquiry officer in the case

is levelling false allegations at him.

Naveen claims that he was not involved in this case in any form.

He says that he did not register the FIR or conduct any inquiry into the case nor did he present the challan in the court. The issue is now being probed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sarabha Nagar to find out the truth.
