Taking note of the illegal car bazaar which is held every Sunday at Feroze Gandhi market,newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal on Thursday sought an explanation from the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
At a meeting that continued till late evening,zonal commissioner D,Davinder Singh met the deputy commissioner to apprise him of the efforts being made by the MC to stop the car bazaar which encroaches upon the roads and chokes the market every Sunday,making commuting difficult in the area.
We were called by DC to discuss the problem of car bazaar as some complaints were received in this regard. While as per our information,bazaar has now been stopped by tehbazaari team,still,as per the DC orders,we along with a police team will be visiting the market this Sunday. Required action against defaulters will be taken on the spot, said Davinder Singh.
EC green signal for Tewari; Verma to join GLADA now
Ending speculation which had been rife for the past few days,the Election Commission on Thursday cleared decks for Rahul Tewari,ex-DC,to join as MC commissioner. Also,ex-MC commissioner R K Verma will now be joining as chief administrator of GLADA (Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority). Both are expected to join their offices on Friday. Verma was given a small farewell party by senior MC officials at Zone A on Thursday.
