Mayor mollifies Cong councillors

Keeping his word,Mayor Hakam Singh Giaspura today held a meeting with Congress councillors and assured them that all pending works in their wards would be completed soon.

He had called the officials of the concerned departments to the meeting to address the complaints on the spot. Most of the complaints pertained to operation and maintainence cell regarding water contamination,water shortage and delay in tubewell installation.

The 18 Congress councillors came armed with 80 complaints and the Mayor gave all of them a patient hearing. Amrit Varsha Rampal,deputy leader of the Congress councillors,said that her ward was grappling with staff shortage in building and roadways department. Even that was also solved on the spot. Most of the councillors went home satisfied.
