Ludhiana Improvement Trust executive officer Jatinder Singh was indicted in the missing file case and suspended on Thursday. The order was issued by Minister for Local Bodies Manronjan Kalia, after the internal probe by the Vigilance Wing of the Department of Local Bodies indicted Singh. He was transferred to Moga after the case came to light last week.
Earlier,Chief Vigilance Officer A K Parbkhar, who was probing the matter, had recommended either suspension or transfer and the minister had ordered Singhs transfer. However, after the CVO reported that Singh was found guilty in four other such instances where he misused his powers and allowed execution of sale deed without taking mandatory permission of Chairman Ashok Juneja,he was suspended.
Parbhakar confirmed the development . Ludhiana Improvement Trust is yet to receive the order. The file had gone missing from LIT last week after a controversy erupted, and some people alleged that Juneja had executed a wrong registry of a 400-square yard plot.
Juneja firmly denied any wrongdoing and maintained no permission was granted by him. He also ordered an inquiry into the matter, during which it was found that apart from this case, mandatory permission was not taken by Singh in four other cases.
