In-form Arif cues into final

Playing a superb game of billiards,Arif Akhtar of Indian Oil stormed into the final for the second consecutive time with an easy 3-0 win over rajat Khaneja in a semi-final encounter of the 25th Chandigarh State Billiards and Snooker Championship played on Sunday.

Playing a superb game of billiards,Arif Akhtar of Indian Oil stormed into the final for the second consecutive time with an easy 3-0 win over rajat Khaneja in a semi-final encounter of the 25th Chandigarh State Billiards and Snooker Championship played on Sunday. Arif started of very well making of break of 38 points in first frame and took the initiative away from Rajat as he comfortable claimed the first frame with a margin of 100-38. .

In the second frame,Rajat responded well by taking a lead of 30 points but Arif came back strongly to make a break of 54,hence stealing second frame from Rajat with a margin of 100-83. The third frame also belonged to Arif where he showed his supremacy and made the game look easy. Arif was in sublime touch as he displayed good control over the ball and gave no easy opportunities to his opponent claiming the third frame with a margin of 100-44 to storm into his second consecutive final. The final score was 100-38,100-83,100-44 in favour of Arif Akhtar.

In the second semi-final encounter,Sandeep Duggal outplayed Gagan Makkar 3-1.
