Australian students visit CIPHET
A delegation of Australian students from various universities visited the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET),to get first hand account of activities undertaken by the institute in the area of research and extension,on Monday. The Australian delegation,which included around 25 students,were shown a video on the CIPHET,highlighting the mandate and innovation carried by the institute. Dr Deepak Raj Rai,Head of Transfer of Technology Division,briefed the students about recent achievements of the institute in the area of food processing and also answered their queries. Students took keen interest in the activities carried out by the institute.
PAU timings changed from today
The Punjab Agricultural University has restored its usual timing of 9 am to 5 pm,with effect from July 20. Conveying the orders of the Vice-Chancellor,the PAU Registrar announced the decision. The PAU Hospital will also function as per its earlier timings.
GADVASU organises training programmes for veterinarians
The Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU),Ludhiana,organised two training programmes for veterinarians of the state. The programmes were sponsored by the Punjab State Veterinary Council,Chandigarh,said Dr Simrat Sagar Singh,Dean,College of Veterinary Science,Ludhiana. In the series,39 training programmes on different aspects of veterinary science were held and veterinarians were given training on Entrepreneurship in veterinary science and biological threats. Financial assistance was provided by Dr Darshan Singh,Registrar,Punjab State Veterinary Council,Chandigarh,under the 11th Five-Year Plan,Centrally-sponsored scheme as professional efficiency development through strengthening of Punjab State Veterinary Council.
