IMA Ludhiana demands CBI inquiry

The Indian Medical Association,Ludhiana,has condemned corruption in the ‘Medical Council of India’ for giving permission to medical colleges in the country. Following the arrest of Dr Ketan Desai,chief of Indian Medical Council,the IMA has demanded CBI probe into the functioning of council for the full tenure of Dr Ketan Desai as the chief of Medical Council of India. Dr Narotam Dewan,President of IMA,Ludhiana has termed the incident as unfortunate. He said,“The arrest of Ketan Desai has put a black spot of the functioning of these powerful institutions.”

INIFD opens annual exhibition

The International Institute of Fashion Design today opened its annual exhibition Miles of style in the city. More than 300 students participated in the event in which 1000 articles and designer ideas related to Fashion Design,Textile Design and Interior Design are on display.

‘Re-examine Knitwear Club polls’

REACTING to the controversy of the Knitwear Club elections,observers in these elections have asked the administration to do a thorough examination of the votes polled and cancelled. They have also sought re-elections.

Already one of the contestants Ajit Lakra who was defeated with one vote from the post of president,had alleged that the votes were rigged. Inderjit Singh Pardhan,K KSeth,Rajnish Ahuja,M M Vyas and many other industrialists have condemned the role of presiding officer Narinder Bhamra and said that elections were held with a malafide intention.
