Punjab Police recruitment rally postponed to April 9
Harinder Singh Chahal,SSP Jagraon,said the recruitment rally for Punjab Police which was to be held on April 1 has been postponed to April 9. This rally is to be held at Government Senior Secondary School Tehsil Road at Jagraon for recruiting male constables in Punjab Police and Punjab Armed Forces. SSP Chahal added that the applicants whose forms had been accepted should report for the rally on April 9. The candidates have been instructed to come with their original certificates and not report later than 10 am after which no one will be allowed to participate in the rally,added the SSP.
Concentrate on health and hygiene of students,says expert at DMCH
Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina,Medical Superintendent and Dean of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH),has urged the teaching community to concentrate on the health and hygiene of students and manage the proper medication for the needy students. Addressing a seminar,he advised teachers to get knowledge and awareness of such programs and provide psychological counselling ,as well as,required health facilities to the affected children.
Satluj Club elections held
The elections of Satluj Club were held here on Sunday. According to Prem Chand,SDM (West),who was the presiding officer for the election,”As many as 1,842 votes were caste. Sanjeev Dhanda was elected as general secretary. while Yogesh Bansal is the new vice-president. Neeraj Malhotra is Bar Secretary,Sanjay Aggarwal is Finance Secretary and T S Thapar is the new Joint Secretary.”
Exhibition at CIPHET tomorrow
The Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) is organising an exhibition for showcasing agricultural technologies under NAIP Sub-Project entitled Mobilizing Mass Media Support for Sharing Agro Information on March 30 at CIPHET campus. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICARs) institutes and agricultural universities from the region would be displaying their technologies. While Dr M S Gill,Director Extension of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) would be the chief guest on the occasion,Dr A M Narulla,Zonal Projector,ICAR,would be the guest of honour.
Seminar on research held
A one-day seminar was organised on the theme Nurturing Research Culture at B C M College of Education. The sub-themes of the seminar were,research in social sciences: present status & future directions. experimental designs and techniques,using statistical package for social science.
Tagore Public School branch in Birmi village
The Birmi branch of Tagore Public School was inaugurated by state Local Bodies minister Manoranjan Kalia on Sunday. Hira Singh Gabria,Cabinet MInister for Tourism and Jails,was the guest of honour. The schoolchildren presented a colorful cultural program.
Orientation programme held at Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School organised an interactive session for the parents of newly admitted children. Dr Shankar Goenka,an alumnus of Birla School in Pilani released activity books prepared and compiled by school teachers.
He exhorted parents to work together with kids to build a healthy relationship.
1,330 treated at medical camp
Guru Nanak Charitable Trust organised the 64th medical camp at Gurumat Bhawan on Sunday. As many as 1,330 eye patients were treated including 203 eye operations which were performed.
Science workshop held at KVM School
Kundan Vidya Mandir School organised a science workshop on How to use knowledge of experimental science in teaching theoretical concepts. Dr Gagan Gupta,Reader in Physics,NCERT,New Delhi was the resource person. Science teachers from 35 schools attended the workshop.
