GLODAS India holds seminar

Gift of life organ Donation Awareness Society (GLODAS India),organised a seminar in the portals of SRS Govt. Polytechnic College for Girls,Rishi Nagar,Ludhiana to motivate the general public to voluntarily donate their various organs after their demise.

Dr.B S Aulakh,Prof and Head Department of Urology and Transplant,DMC&H,Ludhiana and President of the society briefed the general public,teachers and students about the importance of donating human organs to needy persons to live a better life and they enjoy second life. He also told them that it was a noble task and requested all to participate in this noble cause. He told death can be because of brain death or heart stoppage. After brain death,organs remain alive for sometime though person is dead. This short time is very precious if we want to donate and save other’s life,informed Dr.Aulakh.

After heart stoppage,blood flow to organ also stops hence organs also die with in few minuts only.

Manjula Jain,Secretary of the society,told the gathering about Donor Card. She also told about the various activities being carried out by the society.

Er.M P Singh,Principal,SRS Govt Polytechnic College for girls,Ludhiana welcomed Dr.Aulakh and his members of the team. He praised them for their valuable contribution in making people aware about the dignity of human life. He earnestly appealed to all to come forward and make society a better one.
