After the Android application for registering online complaints and then the portal e-suwidha for residents,MC commissioner and GLADA chief administrator R K Verma has again come up with another tech-savvy idea: now auctioning of GLADA properties will be done online.
Giving details of the e-auctioning process which is expected to commence in June, after the residents are given basic training,Rakesh K Popli, estate officer,GLADA,said,Punjab Infotech,Chandigarh is coordinating with us in setting up the whole procedure. On Saturday,we have organised a workshop for residents and a team from Punjab Infotech will give basic training to the participants on e-auctioning.
The workshop is open for all and will be held at GLADA office 11 am onwards. Reportedly,a resident interested in auction will just have to get himself registered with the GLADA website. After that,he will be given a unique username and password which will be valid for one year. However, registration amount of approximately Rs 6,000-7,000 has to be deposited initially. After that, the applicant can participate in any auction conducted within one year.
We will keep bidding open on website for approximately 15 days and after that data will be compiled and results of the bid will be announced, said Popli, adding that response to Saturday workshop would decide if further workshops would be held or not.
GLADA is expecting the auctions to go completely online by the end of this year. However, initially, both the manual and online auctions will go side by side and old as well as new properties will be put for auction on web.
MC commissioner R K Verma told Ludhiana Newsline,The idea was just an effort to keep GLADA updated with the modern technology. Verma is also expected to attend the workshop on Saturday.
