The Association of PSEB-affiliated Schools on Friday held a meeting with Krishan Kumar,Director General,Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan,Punjab. Rajinder Sharma, president of the association, said,We apprised the DG (SSA) about various confusions and problems about the semester system. We told him that students studying in the schools affiliated to Punjab School Education Board,Mohali, have to study 10 subjects, while those studying in CBSE-affiliated schools study only five subjects. The students have to study two papers of computer, one of social useful productive work and one of computer science. All this has over-burdened the students. Moreover the teachers as well as students have not been told about the syllabus. It should be clarified. Sharma said that this year, marks of class X had been declared out of 850,but neither the teachers nor students were aware of it earlier. NK Bangia, another office-bearer of the association, said,The new session starts on April 1,but children do not come to the affiliated schools. We demand that the government should also give advertisement of new session for the affiliated schools as it gives for the government schools. Harcharan Kaur Brar,DPI (secondary),assured the teachers of an amicable solution to their problems.
