Dasuya bypoll: Dogra’s son labelled ‘outsider’ by own party leaders

Mickey – who reportedly got the ticket due to the fragile health of his father – has been facing rebellion from his own party leaders including Bhupinder Singh Cheema aka Bhupi — son of a former Congress MLA Gurbachan Singh Cheema.

Susheel Kumar Sharma aka Pinki,who used to be a close confidant of former minister Dogra has also

decide to challenge the ticket. However,both attended the programme before filing of the nomination papers.

Dasuya Congress leaders had dubbed Mickey as an outsider as he stays in Hoshiarpur and visited the constituency only during election campaigns for his father. While some cited nepotism.

Despite the rebellion,Mickey may get the Chang community vote,which rebelled against Congress in the Assembly election due to Rajneesh Bubby — who is part of the Chang community — being refused a ticket from Mukerian constituency. Bubby contested as an Independent and won the seat.

However,the community seems to have put its differences in the past. The BSP has also decided to not fight in the polls which could benefit Mickey.
