Amarpal Singh Grewal,a student of Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College in Ludhiana,had represented India in the Modern Pentathlon Asian Championships held at Cheng Du in China between May 19-22.

LUDHIANA: Amarpal Singh Grewal,a student of Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College in Ludhiana,had represented India in the Modern Pentathlon Asian Championships held at Cheng Du in China between May 19-22. The only participant from Punjab,Amarpal bagged the 28th position among the participants from Asia. Amarpal is now preparing for the world championship,said his coach,Ajay Sharma.

Trade union rally today

LUDHIANA: The Trade Union Coordination Centre will organise a massive rally outside the mini-secretariat on Friday morning. District president of the union,Ram Khelawan Yadav,said the rally will focus on false cases being imposed on factory workers and the second grade citizen status being meted out to domestic helps. Factory workers are expected to take part in large numbers in the rally.
