Chemist shop burgled

The shop owner alleged that the shop was burgled and thieves decamped with Rs 3 lakh in cash, imported cosmetics and medicines worth several lakhs.

A chemist shop, situated near Model Town police station, was burgled late on Tuesday. The owner said that thieves stole cash, cosmetics and medicines worth Rs 6 lakh.

Owner Hardeep Singh said that he closed the shop on Tuesday night at 10 pm and when he came to open the shop on Wednesday morning, he saw the shutter was broken.

He alleged that the shop was burgled and thieves decamped with Rs 3 lakh in cash, imported cosmetics and medicines worth several lakhs. The accused also took CCTV cameras along with them, he added. The Model Town Police reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
