BSNL staff stage protest

On a call made by United Forum of BSNL Unions,BSNL employees on Friday held a demonstration in front of the office of General Manager,Telecom,Ludhiana. The members of the union pressed for the early settlement of long-pending issues relating to promotions and wage revision of the staff.

Balbir Singh,circle secretary,Punjab,and Balwinder Singh,district secretary,Ludhiana,said that the management was delaying the promotional policy and wage negotiations deliberately by violating the agreements made with the union.

The agreement for the promotional policy was reached upon eight months back but had not been implemented so far,they rued. They said that their other demands included pay fixation on promotion,annual increment at 5% of basic pay be granted cumulatively for non-executives along with the revised pay scales wef January 1,2007.
