156 liquor bottles seized

Excidce excise and Taxation Department today seized 156 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) which were being smuggled into the city from Chandigarh by one Ravinderpal Singh Bhatia and Navjot Singh in Tata Indigo.

The excise officials nabbed the duo and seized bottles from them. They used to regularly bring liquor from Chandigarh and sell it here by making some profit due to the price difference between liquor prices in Chandigarh and Ludhiana.

Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner (AETC) HPS Ghotra said,“A case under Excise Act has been registered against the duo and we have told the police to take necessary action against them.”
