Youth attempts suicide

A 25-year-old youth from Saifai village in Etawah district reportedly tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills near Vidhan Sabha in Hazratganj area of Lucknow today.

A 25-year-old youth from Saifai village in Etawah district reportedly tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills near Vidhan Sabha in Hazratganj area of Lucknow today. Saifai is the native place of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Sanjay Yadav was found in an unconscious state by the police at the site,from where he was shifted to the civil hospital for treatment. His condition is stable now,said Hazratganj Inspector Ashok Verma. Before consuming the pills,Sanjay accused the police of not lodging an FIR on the complaint of his father Sitaram Yadav,who was allegedly badly beaten up by one Bantu a few days ago.

Sanjay claimed that he had met the station officer of Saifai police station and Etawah SSP but even then the case was not lodged. Saifai station officer,however,said Sitaram had not given any written complaint to the police.
