Wrestling camp begins

The cadet girls’ national coaching camp in wrestling commenced at SAI Sub-Centre,Lucknow.

The cadet girls’ national coaching camp in wrestling commenced at SAI Sub-Centre,Lucknow. The strength of the camp is 40 wrestlers and 6 officials.

Director SAI Sub-Centre,Sanjay Saraswat informs that this camp is in preparation for the Asian cadet wrestling championships to be held at Thailand from August 5 and the world cadet wrestling championships to be organised at Hungary from August 25.

Unity Academy shines

Impressive batting performances by Ghulam Abu Baqar (65 runs) and M Raza (59 not out) helped Unity Cricket Academy in defeating NRCA by eight wickets in a quarter-final match of the 3rd Eram Cup Cricket Tournament at Northern Railway Stadium,Lucknow on Thursday. Ghulam Abu Baqar’s 65 came off 35 balls which included seven fours and three sixes. On behalf of NRCA,Dhananjay Singh batted well and scored 61 runs off 54 balls which included seven boundaries and three lofty sixes. Brief Scores: NRCA: 164 for seven in 30 overs ( Dhananjay Singh 61,Moninder Maurya 20,Prakash Giri 14; Vijay Sahni 1 for 16,Adeel Baqar 1 for 25,M Agha 1 for 25,SM Mehdi 1 for 22,Deepak Tripathi 1 for 36); Unity Cricket Academy: 167 for two in 23.3 overs ( Ghulam Abu Baqar 65,M Raza 59 not out,SM Mehdi 24; Ashish Singh 1 for 25,Moninder Maurya 1 for 41).

LCA Hostel triumphs

LCA Hostel defeated Eram Cricket Club by four wickets in their league match of the 2nd St. Ann’s Under-16 Cricket Tournament at Christian College grounds,Lucknow on Thursday. In another league match of the same tourney,KVS Cricket Academy beat National Youngster team by two wickets.
