State Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Tuesday said that the party was ready to sit in opposition if it did not get a majority. She,however,refused to comment on whether or not Presidents rule was being seen as an option. On Monday,senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had said that if the party did not get majority Presidents rule could well be an option.
Addressing mediapersons here a day ahead of arrival of Congress President Sonia Gandhi,who would address a rally here on Wednesday in Parade Ground,Rita Joshi said: There is a strong undercurrent in favour for Congress and the results will be surprising. However,if we do not get majority we are ready to sit in opposition.
