Merely running public welfare schemes is not enough as their benefits need to reach eligible people easily and on time, he stressed. (Express File Photo)Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday claimed that ‘Modi ki Guarantee Van’ which is reaching villages and cities under the government’s outreach programme ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is “a carrier of security, prosperity and happiness in the life of every citizen”.
In a virtual interaction, Adityanath urged people to give a grand welcome to the yatra which ever village or town it reaches”. “If any eligible person has not got the benefit of housing, toilet, LPG cylinder, free ration, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ayushman Insurance, then bring them to the van to avail the schemes on the spot,” he said.
The Chief Minister appealed to people to listen to the Prime Minister’s message on the van and benefit by getting acquainted with the government’s schemes.
“The government’s objective is to fully expand the coverage of public welfare schemes of the double-engine government. For PM Modi, ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ is not just a slogan, but a resolution. In the last nine-and-a-half years, the entire country has seen it changing into a reality. Before 2014, the benefits of government schemes were given selectively, but now the poor, women, and deprived sections are benefitting without any discrimination,” he said.
Merely running public welfare schemes is not enough as their benefits need to reach eligible people easily and on time, he stressed.
“The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra‘ was started by the PM on Tribal Day (November 15) from the birthplace of Shri Birsa Munda to provide benefits of schemes to such people,” he said.
Exhorting those who have benefited from various public welfare schemes, the Chief Minister said, “As part of this yatra, a programme on the theme ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani’ is dedicated to you. Narrate your experiences to the people with the guarantee van. It will be an inspiration for others.”
Drawing a comparison with the previous governments, Adityanath said when the lists of beneficiaries were prepared, there were no BJP governments at the Centre or in states. “Therefore, a large number of people were deprived of housing and other schemes,” he alleged.
Toilets were built in 12 crore houses in the country, including 3.5 crore from UP, the CM claimed. “Earlier, no one thought that toilets should be built in the houses of the poor. The dream of giving MSP to farmers at one-and-a-half times the cost is being fulfilled under the Modi government. Twelve crore farmers are getting PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. As many as 50 crore people in the country got an annual health insurance of Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. A total of 10 crore people in the state are linked to the scheme,” he added.
