Samajwadi Party (SP) MLAs Surendra Vikram Singh and Devendra Pratap Singh blamed Rae Bareli chief development officer (CDO) and district rural development agency (DRDA) officials for allotment of work to a de-registered cooperative society.
Appearing before Lokayukta NK Mehrotra on Tuesday for recommending the name of Rajya Sahkari Nirman Evam Vikas Sangh for executing works from their MLAs local area development (LAD) fund,the SP MLAs said it was the responsibility of the CDO and DRDA officials to check the eligibility of the society. On Monday,two other MLAs from Rae Bareli,Manoj Kumar Pandey and Ramlal Akela,had also made similar statements before the Lokayukta.
Mehrotra said Surendra and Devendra claimed they had recommended the name of the cooperative society for works from their MLALAD funds after its officials requested him to do so. Devendra had recommended work of Rs 1.19 lakh and Surendra recommended work of Rs 2.7 lakh.
