Suicide note from ‘missing’ trader found

Teams of Allahabad and Lucknow police continued to look for a couple and their two children,who had gone missing from their house under Chowk area of Lucknow since Sunday evening. Their car was found abandoned in Daraganj area of the district here Monday evening. The police said it appeared that the missing couple was under heavy debt.

The police said Amit Agrawal (31),his wife Ankita Agrawal (30) and two children — eight-year-old daughter and six-year-old son — had left their Lucknow house Sunday for Allahabad.

Superintendent of Police (Crime),Arun Kumar Pandey,said: “We have been informed that Amit dealt in gold. A police team from Lucknow has also arrived.”

Amit’s father Manohar Prasad Agrawal,who lives in Vrindavan (Mathura),has also put out advertisements in newspapers seeking information about his son and the other three.

Around 8.15 pm,the Daraganj police here received information about a Toyota Innova parked in the Galla Mandi area. The police searched the car and found a purported suicide note saying the family would commit suicide as it was under heavy debt.
