STC (Special Training Centre),Lucknow outclassed the team of DBS (Day Boarding Scheme),Athgawan team by 5-0 in the final to stake claim at the winner’s trophy in the Inter Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Women’s Hockey Tournament organised at Dhyanchand Astro-turf Stadium,Lucknow.

Dodging defenders skilfully,STC Lucknow’s Kavita Morya succeeded in breaking the ice in the very 15th minute of the play.

Bolstered by her success,she sounded the boards again three minutes later to make the score 2-0.

No more goals could be scored in the first-half. Akrit scored a goal in the 36th minute to consolidate the lead further. Thereafter,Rachana sounded two goals—in the 40th and 48th minute ensure a comprehensive 5-0 win for STC Lucknow.

In the match played to decide the third place,Sania Hashim netted an all-important goal in the 35th minute as DBS Allahabad beat DBS Lucknow 1-0 . Nirmal Singh Saini,director/ principal Sports College,Lucknow gave away the prizes to the winners.

THE ninth edition of the Annual Pool Palace Snooker & Billiards Prize Money Tournament will be staged at Lucknow from May 23.

The tournament will feature competitions in events like snooker singles,snooker doubles besides billiards matches.
