SP state executive meet on Monday

The Samajwadi Party will hold a meeting of its state executive committee on Monday. Party chief and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is likely to attend.

The Samajwadi Party will hold a meeting of its state executive committee on Monday. Party chief and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is likely to attend.

The party will discuss strategies for the 2012 Assembly elections. The SP has already declared the names of its 270 possible candidates.

Sources in the SP said the party had invited its top leaders – such as its Muslim face Azam Khan and national spokesperson Mohan Singh. “The state executive has about 225 members. Apart from them,we have invited leaders who are in the party’s national executive,” a source said. According to him,the party’s state executive committee mainly handles organisational issues like membership and ways to ensure growth of the party. He added the SP would begin a membership drive from July.
