Shivbodh Ram to replace Goyal in Council

Chief Minister Mayawati will nominate partyman Shivbodh Ram as a member of the state Legislative Council in place of the state’s former information minister and BSP leader Sudhir Goyal.

Chief Minister Mayawati will nominate partyman Shivbodh Ram as a member of the state Legislative Council in place of the state’s former information minister and BSP leader Sudhir Goyal.

Goyal had resigned from the membership of the Upper House within two days of his nomination. A native of Kesaruan village in Ghazipur,Shivbodh had begun his political career as a member of the Dalit Shoshit Samaj Sangharsh Samiti (DS-4) that Kanshiram had founded in 1981.It had evolved into the BSP in 1984. The CM has currently tasked him with overseeing the party work in Eastern UP. He is one of the four leaders put in charge after the polls. The others are Tribhuwan Dutt,Ram Achal Rajbhar and Ashok Gautam.
