Promising Indian shuttler Sameer Verma who made headlines last year by reaching the finals of the Badminton Asia Youth Under-19 Championships is now gunning for the gold in the championships this year. Although he had lost in the finals in 2011 but he became the first Indian to reach the final of the championships. He was defeated by second seed Zulkiffli Zulfadli of Malaysia 21-15,21-17 in the final.

This year, this prestigious championship will be held at Gimcheon,Korea from June 30 to July 7 and Sameer wants to leave no stone unturned. At the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Academy,Lucknow where the Indian junior team’s camp for the Badminton Asia Youth Championships is in progress,Sameer can be seen practising hard. Talking about the upcoming challenge Sameer said,“ I will be going all out to win a gold this time.
